More Cloverfield stuff

The other day I wrote about the new JJ Abrams movie and all the sites connected to it. Now there is speculation about whether or not the Ethan Haas sites are actually connected to Cloverfield.

Interesting to me how much people are taking apart the trailers frame by frame and doing things like they do with lost, where every number and letter has a meaning. I'm amazed at the quick reaction to something that isn't already huge, although J.J. Abrams has name cred, it's not like it hinted at a new Star Wars or anything like that. Where there is a huge following.
I really doubt that anyone working on this will leak any info, the effects houses are usually given a fake name, and even if not, you should see the NDAs you have to sign when you work on things like this. Only the military ones are more scary.

I am also seeing a trend for things not related to the "game" being snuck in by other businesses, with ARGs. Make it hint at being connected, but not directly so a lawsuit can't result, and draw interest to your page. This causes problems with people being mistaken about facts for a while, until some figure out who owns what.
