I wish I'd been around to see it on its original cinematic release. I would've totally been a 70s sci fi fangirl. This and my love of Star Trek TOS.... born in the wrong era ;)
I think I was. Though Star Trek TOS and Star Trek XII movie - new fandom but god to I love it. It shares a fantastic optimism and belief in the good in humanity - much like Superman. I love it :D
Not only am I thrilled with your answers, but OMGSQUEE!!!! I ADORE your banner. My three all-time favorite aliens in one place! *asplodes from awesome*
And I so feel you about wishing that we had been around back then. No thought makes me happier than the thought of you me, and rizny totally geeking out at the London premiere. Unfortunately, I was a little busy that night in reality. ;) And to have been able to meet Margot and Chris back then. Could you imagine? *whine*
Thanks :) I have been meaning to make such a banner for a while. I love it. What all three characters share in common -aside from being 'aliens' is an optimistic outlook on humanity and this optimism is what draws me to them. Star Trek TOS, and Star Trek XII is a new fandom for me (and actually so is Doctor Who compared to the longevity of Superman in my life at least) and I heart them all

Well said! That was a better way to put what my poor tired brain was thinking as far as the connection. I think you were the reason I finally broke down and watched both the Star Trek film and Doctor Who. :D
XD See, this is what I mean! I think we three would all geek out. I'd love to go back not only to see them in a theater with all the bells and whistles finally, but to also get the chance to talk to them about their careers up until then. Find out what they were really like back then. Margot had already done quite a few projects by then, all of which I would love to have the insider scoop on. And Chris himself had done some stage work that would have been fascinating to hear more about. I just...
*sigh* What if, what if? I do totally envy you the chance to have seen Christopher. I know he was here in Jax once when I was a teenager, the year before the fall. Mom wouldn't let me take the day off to see him. She says she's always regretted it.
If I had a Tardis I would totally go back and watch as much of Reeve's theatre work as I could. I love going - wish I could afford to do it more often. But to see Reeve acting his craft live and up close *major squee* I could oogle and get away with it ;) He always seemed to gravitate back to the stage even when the movie offers were coming is way - I think he preferred the acting process for stage rather than film from what he writes in Still Me. I think Reeve and Kidder's personalities were so different from each other when the movies were released - I think Reeve was a very serious young man, perhaps too serious - he chilled out the older he got (at least enough to describe himself as a 'bit of a bore - perhaps took the acting thing a bit too seriously at times' in an interview I've watched. I can't help but make fun of him a bit for that - but then that seriousness and disciplined approach no doubt helped him when it came to rehabilitation after the accident. Not to mention his believability as Clark Kent and Superman of
