I forgot that PenguiCon actually provides real food in the con suite. I am used to the food there being (a) coffee & soda, (b) chips, (c) veggies & dip if you are really lucky. Read meals in the con suite, what a concept!
I am sorry that I missed the con, I am going to try and plan to be there and at MarsCon both next year. Which means to expect P-Con 6.0 to be another one of the bad cons (I seam to be a P-Con jinx :)
Brick, Actually, I did break the tip of the bone on the outside of my ankle off. I do not need surgery or a cast though and the pain isn't too bed. I have a brace that looks like a big boot. I can take it off to shower though and that beats a cast any day. I am allowed to put weight on it as long as I put most of my weight on the crutches, so I am getting around ok. Still working from home.
I had a great time at Penguicon though. It was my first year, and I will definitely be back. Of course since Eoghnved is ConChair for next year, I would be there anyway. :-)
I had exactly the same injury several years ago. I didn't go to the ER, though. I actually went to the drugstore immediately after it happened, and got a brace and ice pack. I wore my boot unzipped and continued work for the next two days. The second day was a Monday and was my regular job (I was working two jobs at the time) and my boss made me go to the doctor. She prescribed me some sort of cooled air brace which I had to buy at a medical supply store, but at least it was covered by insurance. She also made me get an x-ray and see an Orthopedic doctor. When I got there, I waited forever for him to tell me the break was nothing to worry about, and the brace I was using was fine. I found myself thinking that the brace I had gotten at the drug store worked just as well, and I would have been better off not going to the doctor at all.
Anyway, glad your experience wasn't horrible, and I hope it heals quickly. *hugs*
I enjoyed the dance on Friday very much! As soon as I knew I was going, I let my boyfriend know that he was going to the dance with me. He does not like dancing. But we had fun. It was nice to hang out with you all at the end of the con and thanks for the invite to Red Robin!

Ok, wait, take that as you will.
(that was for the "I only listen to the Travcast to hear BadKitty" remark LOL).
