Kitty was, as she quite often found herself, bored. However, she decided to hell with what she'd told everyone, she was most definately sick of having to dress up like a man every single morning. So, after she'd told Arachne, which was her first mission of the morning, she was going to go out in what appeared to be modern women's clothing (not far ( Read more... )

As always, Percy habitually found himself coming across a friend with impeccable timing. Virtually popping out of nowhere in his finery, it was an odd sight to see Kit the Gentleman now apparently disguised as Kitty the Lady. Disguised...not disguised, he supposed it was all the same.

"M'lady," he said, not bowing for that would be just cruel. He did acknowledge the lack of masculine attire with a small and pleasant smile. Percy could not guess why Kit had decided to forgo the costume, but he did not think it such a terrible thing in the slightest.

Kitty looked down from the sky and took another drag off her cigarette, "Sir Percy. How nice to see you." At least there was no explaining for her to do to him. "Say, you know a lot of people around here. Is it just me, or are a lot of people disappearing?"

"Lovely to see you as well," he replied cheerfully. Moving the tail of his coat out of the way, he took a seat beside her on the bench. "Especially in a change of attire, though if you'd like I shall make no further mention of it."

Hat and gloves removed, he made himself more comfortable. "Many people, as a matter of fact. I had spoken to Miss Una on the very same subject not very long ago. I am glad to see that you are still among us." Tapping his cane on to the ground, he added, "Did you lose someone?"

She moved up a little on the bench, so he had room to sit and finished off her mostly burnt out, thanks to her distraction, cigarette, "Unless you feel a need to make a mention of it, don't bother."

Giving him a quiet, sort of wistful smile, "I doubt you'll have met her. Arachne. Very tall, quite dark..." She trailed off as the next thing she was going to add was 'exceptionally pretty' and that might not be a good move. "Good friend of mine."

((Been wanting these two to meet...))

Gypsy had a good memory for faces. She was puzzled, therefore, at a face that looked both faintly familiar, as someone she might have seen around, and...not. Either way, the face looked a little down. (In those clothes, who could blame her?) Might as well be sociable.

"Hello there," she said genially. "I don't think we've met, have we? I'm Gypsy."

((Question. how does she recognise her? *thinks she's missed a trick*))

Kitty looked up and at...wow, this park was full of beautiful women, wasn't it? She paused and smiled, "I don't believe we have. I'm Kitty." It actually took a definate effort to avoid saying just Kit. "Nice to meet you. What...year are you from, you don't look like you're far from my time?"

((Oh, not really. Gypsy was at Percy's audition, and they live a few doors down from each other IIRC, so I figured she would've seen Kit in passing at some point but not actually spoken to her. Does that work for you?))

"Pleasure to meet you, Kitty. Nineteen thirty-one - how about you?" It would be nice to have someone around here whose conversation she actually understood.

((Oh, right, that's awesome. I thought there was some weird actress crossover...))

"1893, but it's close enough by my standards." She'd at least still be alive by the time 1931 came around for her, unlike most the other people more modern than her, "What, by the way, do you do?" Kitty was curious, but certainly not one to judge.

Duck was generally quite good at reading people anyway, but you didn't exactly need a lot of insight to see this lady was feeling kind of down.

"Miss?" said Duck hesitantly, eager to help but slightly worried she might be prying. "Is everything okay? Well, um, I mean, can I help any? I know we haven't met before, but I'd like to help if I can."

A young girl. That was unexpected. It was appreciated that she was concerned, though, and Kitty looked up with a smile, "I doubt you can. My friend...well, she was one of the people that disappeared recently." She paused, not quite sure what to say now, "But, um, I'm Kitty, who are you?"

Duck's eyes widened. She had heard of people disappearing from Setsuna, but only vaguely. This was the first time she'd heard of it happening specifically to one person. "I'm really sorry," she said softly, and wasn't really sure what to add.

"My name's Duck," she said, and then smiled slightly. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Kitty!"

She was very tempted to ask 'duck?', but decided against it. "It's nice to meet you too." She looked at Duck curiously, then asked, "How old are you, by the way?" Mainly because she was intrigued, not for any specific reason.
