Starbuck recognized the long shadow on the wall when Sam entered and bounced a ball for Sador one more time as she rose to her feet. "Where've you been hiding out the past few days? I came by to run a few times and you...." She noticed the look on his face as he approached, had a ghost of an idea cross the very back of her mind and forced it down. "Sam, what is it?"

“I uh…” There wasn’t really a good or ease-her-into-it way to do this, was there? He looked down and scuffed his foot against the gray floor, then glanced back up at her. “Dean’s missing. I haven’t seen him for almost a week, so…. I guess it’s safe to assume that he’s gone the way of all the other people who’ve disappeared. Whatever that is.”

Starbuck turned her head and stared at the gray wall for a while. "Right," she said softly. Then, "Frak."

Someone else would have given him a hug. She still might. She just wasn't sure.... "Wh... When was the last time you saw him?"

“Yeah,” Sam agreed heavily, watching her. Had to suck doubly for her, in a way; they’d talked some about Aragorn, and weird as it was she’d been good friends with the guy. And he’d disappeared too.

“Five days, I think. I’ve scoured the place, and, well, it’s hard for something to stay hidden when I’ve really set my mind to find it.” He gave her a weak attempt at a smile. Unless he’s hiding in Club 33, he’s not here anymore.”
