Sitting next to the angel, he wasn't sure what else to say. The mark of favour was an awkward topic, and agreeing with the adversary comment would be deeply true but not particularly cool...
"It's embarrassing, really," finished Crowley vaguely, referring to the pathetic nature of most of the creatures they were sharing space with.

"It really is, at times," he was forced to agree. "But at least now I know for a fact the boy is not to be trusted. Though he could have proved the point with a good deal less property damage." He cast a disgruntled look at the mess. "Don't worry about that; I'll clean it up when I'm done with this cup, if the park hasn't fixed it by then."
The mantelpiece clock was inching its way toward a more or less correct time again, but he'd become a bit better at controlling his own stress, and reined in the energy leak before it got out of hand. This had been a fairly good day, before Katou's intrusion, and he was hoping to salvage what was left of it. "I trust your afternoon was less eventful?"

"Significantly less so," he murmured, trying to think of something that might cheer the angel up. "Though I did see John Adams reading the copy of Much Ado About Nothing that you lent him out loud to Susan in a cafe on Main Street. She was smiling, which is always disconcerting..."

"Should we tell Cayce about this incident, do you think?" he asked after a moment. He doubted Katou's intentions had been truly malicious, and didn't want to worry the lady unnecessarily, but such mischief could all too easily escalate into worse. And it had been terribly disrespectful, besides.

"Yeah, we're going to have to. She deserves to know. No doubt she'll find out eventually, when he tries to pull something else, and if she finds out that I knew and didn't tell her, she'll be pissed."
