Application for Pikachu, Pokemon

Jul 09, 2007 21:44

Pikachu’s in a good mood. He likes travelling; maybe because Ash does, and if Ash is happy, Pikachu usually is too. He’s glad his trainer has gotten over the whole losing in the Pokémon League thing and has his usual spirit back, so off they go, on another adventure! Who knows what lies ahead? Who they’ll meet, what will happen, the things they’ll ( Read more... )

Virgil just had to go to this one. He'd already realised, of course, that there were fictional characters about, but this was just too good. He flew over as Static, grinning like a maniac and trying not to laugh. It was so cute in person.

"Hi Pikachu!" he waved.

Pikachu watched the flying-boy with the same curiousity everything else was getting. "Pikachu," he said, waving a little paw in return.

Awwwww.

He landed next to Pikachu, still grinning. "Nice to meet you! I'm Static. What are you doing here? Where's Ash?" He thought about that for a second. "Are you that Pikachu, or just a Pikachu?"

Pikachu smiled welcomingly at him. "Pika-pika!" he replied, which meant something like, 'nice to meet you too!' At the mention of Ash, however, Pikachu's ears pricked up and he looked around, then turned back to Static with a very disappointed expression. "Pika-pi pikachu," he said mournfully. "Pika-pika, pika-pikachu!" He was that Pikachu, all right, and that Pikachu was worried as to where Ash had gone. He needed Pikachu to look after him.

Shaun had heard a voice all around the place, it was being projected through the loudspeakers. He couldn't help but fall on the ground in laughter. It seriously could not be Pikachu. It had to be someone in a Pikachu costume. Shaun walked around until he found the little yellow thing he'd been looking for, a smirk on his face.

"Piiiiikaacchuuuuuu." He drew out the word, trying not to grin.

Pikachu looked up at this strange new man with a speech impediment. "Pi-ka-chu," he corrected. There was really no need to drag it out like that.

Shaun looked down, inspecting the little yellow thing that wasn't on a tv screen. When he heard him speak, he broke out in a michevious grin. "Pika pika pika pika." He'd played enough Pokemon games to realise that he was talking complete rubbish. "I'm Shaun."

... It wasn't really gibberish, for in Pika-speak they were words, though they made no sense. Pikachu did not really care to know what Shaun had done with his broccoli's aunt.

Pikachu nodded politely. "Pika-pikachu," he replied.

Hot Streak might not have been into the whole Pokemon craze, but it had been kind of hard to miss. The name Pikachu definitely set off something when he heard it, so he went to go see, only to see the stupid yellow thing that he had seen all over Dakota when he was younger.

"You're shitting me," he said, completely deadpan. This was too much.

Pikachu put his head on one side and then shook his head slowly. "Pikachu," he said slowly.

"You," he said to Pikachu. "You're one of those..." he frowned, and snapped his fingers a little, sending out a few sparks. "Pokeymen, aren't you?"

"Pikachu," Pikacu corrected. He took a few steps back at the sparks, settling down on all fours, his own cheeks sparking a little.

Skaffen-Amtiskaw sincerely hoped that the DROU Xenophobe never got wind of this little creature. "Xeny" had been quite bad enough. At least it spoke proper Marain.

"And what are you, exactly?" it inquired.

Pikachu tilted his head, looking up at this new... thing... with equal confusion. "Pikachu," he answered, then asked, "Pika-pikachu?" which meant something like, 'what kind of Pokémon are you?'

Skaffen-Amtiskaw was good with languages; it was part of being a Special Circumstances drone.

But this one had it completely baffled. No obvious structure, no grammar, no forms, only three syllables, and only inflections to go by.

Clearly it had just been asked a question. "Are you asking what I am, then?" It seemed likely, since that seemed to be the first question that anyone fired off to Skaffen-Amtiskaw. "I am a drone and a citizen of the Culture."

Pikachu nodded at the first question. "Pikachu," he answered, which pretty much meant 'yes'. He continued to look at the new object curiously, sure he had recieved an answer but not sure what it had meant. "Pika-pikachu?" he tried again.

Setsuna heard the familiar sounds and "words" over the loud speaker and snorted. Pikachu? Really?

He contemplated not going, then ended up arriving anyhow, to just stare for a moment or two. "Pikachu?" he asked, as though he had to. After living in Japan when that show became so popular, he knew damn well what he was seeing. It was just still hard to swallow -- the possibility they were all fictional.

After a moment or two Setsuna had to ask, "Can I pet you?" with his hand out, to show he meant no harm, he hoped. Was Pikachu soft?

Pikachu took a few steps towards the new person. "Pikachu," he answered, inwardly wondering why everyone felt it neccessary to confirm who he was. You would think they'd never seen a Pokémon before!

He studied the boy before answering, and sniffed his fingers. He seemed harmless enough. Pikachu nodded, saying, "Pikachu." The boy could pet him, but it was up to Pikachu when he stopped.

Well, Setsuna hadn't, unless it was animated, or in a toy shop. This was a whole other level of bizarre for the kid.

Delighted at the idea, Setsuna started to gently stroke his hand over Pikachu's head, then cautiously rubbed a bit behind his ears, like he would with a cat. Hey, you never know, mouse Pokémon or not, perhaps Pikachu had similar areas.

"You're pretty nice for an electric rodent," Setsuna told him, rather fondly.

All right, so he couldn't help it. Pikachu's eyes closed and he turned his head a little into the petting, ears twitching slightly. He liked being petted. (Though snuggling was reserved solely for Ash). "Pika~," he said appreciatively.

He opened his eyes to look at the boy curiously. "Pika?" Pikachu asked. Why shouldn't electric Pokémon be nice? Perhaps he'd had a bad experience with them when they were younger...
