I turned the original artwork into a title banner:
I used muted sepia colours such as grey and brown throughout the project to extend the horse theme. Also this was a contrast with the title. The colour would all be in the story, and the artwork was more about characters than colour.
And speaking of characters, there were some great characters within the story which deserved their own artwork.
And finally...
