Well, it's been a funny old day ...

Oct 14, 2019 21:43

So, it was this morning, pissing down with rain, when I set off driving to work.

I'm half a mile away from the office, just over the level crossing, and stationary in a queue of traffic, when ... WHAM!  Some prat in a giant Mercedes 4WD runs straight into the back of me.

I'm fine, thank you, and its amazing how easy it is to forget that when you're preoccupied with your car!

I've always said that people who drive expensive cars think they own the road because they are more likely to drive like they do and ignore regular rules of law. This guy in his expensive Mercedes must obviously think that since he drove away. I hope they catch him and nail his ass to the wall. Glad to hear you're okay, but sorry for your poor car. ;( Watch out for late onset whiplash. The one time I was rear ended it took about 2 days for it to settle in and feel it.

Happy Bday Mr. D. Hope it was a nice one.

PS: I have your magazine. DM me your address.

I think you're right about these drivers of fancypants cars. As the accident was so close to a railway crossing, the insurance think it's worth getting a look at the CCTV because all rail crossings have it. So with a bit of luck they'll find him. It's turned out to be a BIG repair, so they'll be clamouring to get their money back.

Mr D had a nice birthay thank you :)

I really hope they find him and nail his ass to the wall. A big Mercedes running into your little car, of course there will be extensive damage. The dumb git. Good luck for that.

Firstly I'm so glad you are ok!
Now to your assailant - what a KNOB! I really hope the police and or insurance find the bastard and give them hell. And I think you'll find you are entitled to a lot more than just the £175 excess from them. People who do that sort of thing are utterly despicable. They wouldn't have known you were ok for starters, so the least they could have done was stop and find out., never mind all the rest of the responsibility they have for insurance etc.

Do keep an eye on yourself for the next few days, you might find some aches and pains that aren't apparent right now.

Thankyou!
Yes, I think your assessment is very similar to mine - what a NOB!
As the accident was so close to a level crossing, the insurance think it's worth getting a look at the CCTV because all level crossings have it. So with a bit of luck they'll see the shunt. It's turned out to be a BIG repair, so they'll want to get their money back. So fingers crossed!
