Hope for the best that your mum won't need surgery. Just be glad that it wasn't worse. Elderly people and falls is a common occurrence. My parents were falling all the time. It's a bummer that she broke her wrist, but a relief that it wasn't worse. As for breaking the left arm, I guess your family is just unlucky that way. ;)

You're so right. I've just got so used to my Dad having all the health emergencies that it feels like the end of the world with my Mum out of action.
In a perverse kind of way, it may be a good thing for my Dad because it will force him to do things for himself at last!

Yea, the men do rely upon us women for a lot of things. I know my dad was that way with my mom. It's good that my dad went first, because the other way around?? My dad was capable in alot of things, but duties around the house, NOT. I think its a generational thing, because all my brothers, except maybe one, are all handy with household duties and could probably survive without their wives.
