I remember seeing someone (elsewhere) mention she had DIY'd her boudoir pics.. they turned out great but I can't remember how she did it

I've done this before as a Valentine's gift. It requires a digital camera - a really good friend - and a lot of guts.
Then you need to look at them on a computer (full sized) and figure out which ones to keep. Then I just printed them on our home computer. We have a photo printer.
It's never a good idea to take your Boudoir photos to your local photomart to get them developed - you don't want anyone giving you "the look" when you come to pick them up and in some states I think it's illegal.
i second bean668, if you've got a good friend you can ask, it makes it a world easier. i've done some for one of my best friends and it was a little weird at first, but not after the first few minutes, and i can't imagine trying to do it myself,
I've done this before as a birthday gift. It was just me, my Coolpix, and something to prop the camera on. Set the timer, pose, and keep trying until you get the shot right =P If you have access to a camera tripod, that might make things easier. I'm thinking about doing the again before the wedding. My only concern is how to dress up our apartment so it doesn't look like bad webcamming. I think I might hang some sheets/blankets as backdrops, and soft/dim lighting is key. I had some luck creatively using only white xmas lights as my lighting for some shots.
I have done my own before, and like the above poster, I just kept taking photos. I must have taken 50 pictures and I only liked 2 of the bunch, but it was fun. I got to take my time, do my make up, try on ALL of my clothes and pose any way I wanted. I wanted the photos to look more like 40s pin ups, so I hung sheets, moved my antique wingback around and posed. I didn't want anything nude (I am a chubby girl) so wore corsets and the like.
Having a tripod really helped.
When it was done, I photoshoped the heck out of them. I used cool filters and framed things out. My user pic is one from that day.
Have fun with it! Just remember, if they dont look good, you can delete them and no one will ever know.
Thanks! This is really helpful-- my first attempt (no tripod) was last night and I have a couple of cool shots (after Photoshop) but it was hard to get more full length poses. I also have a few pounds to strategically disguise in poses, so maybe a tripod will allow me to position myself better for those purposes...
