Monthly Goal

So my goal for July was to learn something new each day.  I've been pretty good about it, but the July 4th holiday threw an early wrench into things--family and learning don't necessarily mix! :-)  I'm sure you've seen some of these sites, but they've been incredibly helpful in my learning quest: www.sutree.com and www.monkeysee.com.  SuTree ( Read more... )

I love those types of goals, but I would have a hard enough time creating something every day as it is (without the learning part lol). I stumbled upon this site a while ago: http://www.expertvillage.com/ when I was looking for belly dance videos (I know the basics, I was curious to see what else there was), so it might also be of interest to you. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to navigate, but videos are broken down well.

TextFiles.com has a wealth of random information, mostly the 80's and 90's, and there is no accounting for accuracy or truth - but it is a fascinating look into the random trivia, facts, and skills that people collect over the years (and the varied, often sketchy, interests of early Internet geeks). So you may not learn anything incredibly useful for anyone other than societal misfits or hackers, but you can at least learn something about human psychology.
