Hey all! My name's Melissa and I'm new to cloth pads. I use a cup but I'd been looking into cloth pads for a while, for those times when I needed back-up or just didn't want to use my cup. I finally bought some moonpads from epicerma on Etsy last night (I can't wait for them to get here!) but the more I read this community, the more I wanted to try ( Read more... )

i hand sew all of my pads and i've found that chip clips or binder clips really help with the fabric not sliding around on itself

Good tip! I had some fabric pins that I thought I might use, but clips might be an even wiser idea. Thanks!

i've found the pins wiggle around and come free if i'm moving the pad around to sew it so i started using the clips

Great fabric, I love, love skulls. Anyway, I have always washed my fabric and dried it on hot at least 2-3 times just to make sure. Never my micro fleece, just the cottons, and absorbent inside. Good luck- post pics if you can when done. :)

Those fabrics are cute.
I sewed most of my stash by hand. I could do one pad in an evening. Make sure the pattern you use does not have too many layers to sew through or get a thimble. I made pocket/insert style of pads and sewing through the layers was not a problem, but most people here like All-In-Ones and I have never sewn one of those so I don't know if it is trickier.
Welcome to the adiction!
