»Contracts info

so let's be killers, babe
Let's say, for argument's sake, that there's an underground circuit of assassins selling their skills to the highest bidder that's been operating for longer than anyone has realised. Not just assassins, of course, they're more often multi-talented creatures. For all you know, that co-worker you've had your eye on for a while now has undergone years of training in skill sets you only hear about in movies and video games. For all you know they're here collecting information on your boss for someone who wants to buy out the company. Or maybe he crossed some gangsters and they needed someone to get close and make him regret it. What matters is that the contracts have skills, and the clients have money.

Nobody is quite sure how they work or how they pick new contracts. All most know is that girl they used to sit next to in maths every day is starting to look a little more and more like she could tear them apart without breaking a sweat. That the weedy boy who used to be swamped by his PE kit is starting to overtake the most athletically inclined students in his school. Sometimes a best friend just ups and goes missing, but you could swear that was them on that surveillance tape you saw on the news last night. The one looking for suspects in a high class killing.

And of course, some people who want a cut of the action decide that maybe it's better to just forgo the effort of finding potential contracts to train altogether. It was expensive to start with (still is, but the profits make up for it) but it's amazing what some technobabble and bullshit can get you in the world of genetic engineering and bioweaponary. There's a lot of groups trying it around the world, but the frontrunner is a company that goes only by "The Organisation," operating in several locations around the UK.

Some snipping, cutting and a lot of dumb luck later, and the Organisation is at the lead in the world of creating one's own genetically enhanced contracts. This hasn't gone without incident, of course. Like Subject 527, who escaped after developing a rebellious streak and is a constant thorn in their side. Like when he ruined field experiment, Subject 628, contacting her and explaining why she could remember little of her childhood.

Understandably, things have been a little... hectic in recent years.

Kyle; Sandra Roth

Subject 628; designation "628-X1125125β" was created in retaliation to the 'failure' of Subject 527. Created with the hope of being obedient and loyal, but a lot went wrong. She ended up looking a little less than human, which was much less than ideal for a subject you were planning to put in the field. But she more than made up for it in other ways, in terms of physical stats, she more than surpassed Subject 527. She was faster, stronger, healed quicker, immune to toxins and took better to combat training than he ever had. She completed her first assassination quickly and silently at the age of six and soon became one of The Organisation's most favoured operatives.

Unfortunately, however, the chief factor in her creation backfired horribly. She soon became far more defiant and reckless than her predecessor, developing a sadistic nature and often causing far larger messes than her unit was prepared for. At the age of nine, she "escaped" and was "found" by Andrew and Melissa Roth, a couple with a young son who lived in a quiet, out of the way area in Surrey. Of course, this was all engineered by The Organisation, knowing Andrew was a well-known assassin on the contract circuit. Since she was more than they could handle, they placed her in a way that they felt would aid her development after erasing her memories of the her time in the Organisation.

Alec; Tyr Roth
TBA

Kyle's adoptive younger brother. Like her, trained under their father as a contract. Soon, however, he realised he was more enamoured with the business side of things and moved from being active himself to being Kyle's agent, handling the boring parts of her jobs.

Lexx; Alexis Roberts

Originally, Alexis was training to be a gymnast. From primary school, her talent was clear, and she spent a good deal of her childhood in training, planning to go to the Olympics when she was old enough. She was picked up as a teenager after training one day, the allure was too much to resist and she took to the work like a duck to water. Decided she'd had enough one day and had a brief stint as a model. Pretty successful, but once you've started a life as a contract, you don't leave until you're dead, and she ended up back on missions, doing each one quickly and efficiently as if she'd never left. Still a bit of a fashionista - there's no reason you can't dress practically and look good, after all. A talented actress to boot, whilst she's a trained assassin like the rest, her real niche is in espionage.

Takeru; Daniel Bai
TBA

Is actually Chinese, not Japanese. A horrible Japan fanboy, but no one mentions it because he's a great assassin and the only one in their circle who speaks Japanese (it comes in handy surprisingly often.) Originally took up martial arts and sword fighting as hobbies to keep fit and realised soon enough that he was pretty fucking good at it. Was scouted during training one day for his talent. Started out on retrieval missions and eventually made his way up to assassination and the like. Still prefers information gathering and retrieval, but he's not one to turn his nose up at a good paycheque. Had his right eye taken by Kyle for refusing to give up information. She hooked him up with a false eye that has all sorts of nifty features, courtesy of Dexter. He's got no idea how it works, but it's fucking awesome. Amazingly, they're still pretty close friends.

John Smith
TBA

Subject 527; designation "527-Y1081514α" is a scientific marvel. By his own reckoning, at least. He was The Organisation's first fully successful operative. Strong, agile and excelling in various styles of combat, including those with close-range weaponary. First started missions in the field at the age of seven and soon procured a 100% success rate. At the age of nine, however, he developed a strong rebellious streak, prompting the creation of more obedient operatives. For 527, disciplinary action only further developed his independent and rebellious nature until, at the age of thirteen, he eventually escaped.

Dexter; Samuel Jones
TBA

Dexter is your go-to guy if you ever need anything. Nobody knows how he does it, but if you need arms, a way in, some information-- anything, he'll have it for you in under a week at most. So long as you're a friend, at least. Everyone else can get in line, and they've gotta pay a hefty fee too.
