'Dite and Karla were waiting for Dinah on the porch at Decadent Delights. When she showed up, she was her normal bouncing self.

It wasn't long before 'Dite had transported them all to the top of a mountain so tall they couldn't see the earth for the clouds below.

"Karla, Dinah, welcome to the very top of Mount Olympus."

"Okay, here's the deal. First run you have to take with me. Second run you can take your own board, but only if you stay close and don't try any tricks."

'Dite stepped onto the board and held out her hand. "Ready?"

"Okay!" Dinah could be good. In a good cause. Which this definitely, definitely was.

She reached for 'Dite's hand and climbed up behind, looking gleeful. "Whenever you are!"

"Actually, move around in front, okay? I can hold onto you better, and you can get a feel for guiding the board."

When they were ready, 'Dite levitated the board and inched them toward the edge. "Okay, take a deep breath, cause once we're in the air, it gets hard to breathe."

Dinah wished she'd thought to bring a re-breather, and took a huge breath. "One... two..."

Folding her arms, 'Dite gave Dinah a stern look. "Don't cut the corners too tight, don't try a slide for speed, and stay close -- remember, the only seat belt you've got is me." She winked, then turned to the third member of the party.

"Are you feeling recovered enough to join us on this one? The air is fantastic today."

Karla leapt up. "Of course I am! Like I'd let something silly like a hangover keep me from flying."

Dinah was already bouncing, trying not to grin *too* hugely.

'Dite grinned at Karla. "Let me get Dinah off first, and I'll warn you like I did her; the wind moves really quick, so don't cut your corners too close, and make sure you take a deep breath before you take off, okay?"

She turned back to Dinah. "Remember, I'll be nearby, I won't let you crash, and this is not a race. Take it slow. Got it?"

The food had been imported from Rome, with every famous Italian dish. 'Dite leaned back on a golden couch and raised a glass. "To Dinah . . . and all the incredible things ahead of her."

Dinah held up her glass too. "Ooo, that second part? Totally drink to that."

"I'll drink to both, thank you," Karla said, raising her own glass. "To Dinah, who taught me that kindred spirits come from every world and that family means more than just blood."

Raising her glass higher, 'Dite drank, then set the glass aside.

"Okay, if you don't know what something is, ask -- but trust me, it's wonderful." She began pointing things out. "Cannelloni with white sauce, potato gnocchi, saffron risotto, polenta with tomato sauce, pasta puttinesco, and fettuccini alla papalina."

Someone had definitely remembered Karla's appetite.
