The Skinny.

Lavender's finally broken some bones but it wasn't even her fault. To everyone who saw her in Hogsmeade today, she's okay, she's just up in the Hospital Wing, She shouldn't have broken that much. They're keeping her up there. I think I'll be visiting a lot. I don't know what exactly she's broken but it's a few bits. Her arm, I think, and her ( Read more... )

Well, I've always known Draco Malfoy is a twisted little snotrag but this is rather startling. I had no idea Lavender was so dangerously frail - I mean, I suppose you're right, her robes do hang off her, but still, I thought you helped her revise her "Don't Eat" list.

Well, I didn't actually help her, I sort of just changed it without asking. You know Lavender, I was hoping she wouldn't notice. Evidently she did; I think she stopped eating everything a couple of weeks ago. I wish I was joking but you've seen the way she drinks water, she practically inhales it.

Oh, no. I feel so awkward and guilty. She's my room mate as well as yours - I should have said something, or helped her look up a better diet, or kept her away from Malfoy, or really just something. I've never felt close to her but I've always thought we were at least friends, and she really is very sweet, and does not deserve to have Malfoy being a slime to her on top of this problem with eating. It's completely inexcusable of him. And I really do feel bad for not knowing her any better. I had no idea it was her birthday.

I'd like to go visit her with you tomorrow, if you don't mind.

You feel awkward? For years she was my best and closest friend. Look at me, I'm talking like she's gone or something. It must just be the general mood. We shouldn't feel guilty because it's not like she even listened to me at all but I shouldn't have given up, okay, evidently I feel terribly guilty. Lavender's not the brightest spark but she's loyal as anything and can always make you smile. I really just want her better, I suppose. I got her something at Hogsmeade earlier today, I left it next to her bed up in the Wing so I hope she opens it and feels a bit better. I just feel rotten.

It'd be really nice of you to come up tomorrow. I'm going up before classes and after, so whichever you want to come, you know where to find me, haha.

I wish I could knock Malfoy back into his place somehow but it's not like I even know where his place is, I'd just like to belt him one. I think it'd feel really good right now, to be honest.

Shite, poor Lavender. Believe me, Parvati, you are not alone in your sentiments regarding Malfoy. We should start a pool and set Harry up with a set of wicked brass knuckles. Razor would be good too.

Or, you know, we could just get Malfoy's wand off him and let loose with our own. Oh, sorry, I meant to say that violence is not the answer, Dean.

From the sounds of it, violence is his mother tongue.

I don't think I'd want any of us to sink as low as his level.

Actually, there is one other consolation that comes out of all this.

If Malfoy thinks Lavender is too fat for him to date, then it stands to reason that every girl in the world is too fat for him to date.

So he'll never have children, and we'll all be spared another generation of Malfoys.

I would venture to say that this is some sound reasoning, Neville.

He isn't worth it. He fights dirty. Honestly, pushing a frail girl to show how surprisingly evil he is. I mean, really. It's pathetic. Pushing Lavender is like kicking a puppy.

Don't brood. If you feel like brooding come find me and we will attempt to not brood together.

If there's no brooding involved, could there be smiting?
