So the girlies are getting into Percy Jackson, and my recollection of Greek goods/goddesses/mythology ain't what it used to be. (It's also warped by those two years of Latin I had in high school where I had to remember the Roman gods/goddesses/etc instead ( Read more... )

This is a tough one. My Greek Mythology books are mostly of the Edith Hamilton school, which is not going to be as simple and brief as, say, wikipedia. But using GoogleFu would be my recommendation anyway.

Other librarians have told me that the place to go to learn about the Greek mythology the Lightning Thief series is actually Rick Riordan's website. It looks like he has a list of useful links to mythology websites.

Aaargh. My mom got me a great paperback-sized Greek mythology encyclopedia when I was a kid, but I can't remember who wrote it so I can't find any info on it online!

Anyway, besides Edith Hamilton, another name I remember from mythology readings is Bernard Evslin. He has apparently written quite a few books outlining who's who!

I think there's a DK Eyewitness book about Mythology, and if so, it would be a good bet.
