Perhaps my heart is cold and dead??

It seems like everyone and their brother are OMG!!SO EXCITED!!!11!1!! for the Where the Wild Things Are movie. The latest effusive post was over at Bookshelves of Doom. I mean, this isn't the first post where people are confessing that they are breaking down and *sobbing* at just the trailer. While I absolutely love the book (it was the first ( Read more... )

I had a similar reaction to yours. I mean, are they supposed to look like football mascots? Is that on purpose?

Sobbing at the trailer? I must not have a heart either. I do want to see it...probably from Redbox at my own house. But, sobbing? definitely not me.

I didn't even know there was a Wild Things movie. Wouldn't want to see it, because who wants to be shown how to make a Wild Rumpus? The whole fun is making up your own.

"and it was still hot." *loves*

I won't apologize for being excited about the movie, but I also wouldn't classify myself as being OMG SO EXCITED, and I didn't sob, although I did get chills both times I saw the trailer in the theater. I think the first time was a couple of months ago when I saw Earth, and I was by myself and emotional anyhow, but it affected me the same way again when I saw HBP. You are very judgy about movies, yo. ;)

WHAT??!?!?!? No, I'm not! I just haven't been as bowled over as I wanted to be. It would become commonplace if you were excited by and loved EVERYTHING, right?

sorry, I'm probably only going by this and HBP. Not really a fair or broad analysis. ;) I'll pay more attention in the future! I wasn't saying you had to be totally excited about everything all the time, because, for one, I'm certainly not, because there is a lot of crap out there, but I thought the trailer of the Wild Things I saw made it feel like I was reading the book only it was alive, and I don't think I'd want them to look more "real," because they look like the illustrations, but maybe that's just me.

Yeahhhh, I am with you on this one, because I was worried that the wild things would look like weird REAL wild things, and I just wanted them to look like the book wild things. I am very attached to them, since I used to hallucinate that they were coming out of my walls when I was little (and troubled, apparently) and running high fevers. I didn't sob, but I actually did tear up a little, because the music and little Max in his bunny suit!!! and the boat. I am also excited for the Dave Eggers companion book. :)

*hugs both*
