[PoT - Mizuki/Atsushi] - Twinsick

Mizuki knew that Atsushi missed his brother. it was quite obvious, considering how he compared every single one of his moves to the ones his brother had managed to develop, and how they worked a lot better when he tried them. Or how he would sometimes talk in his sleep, apparently dreaming of some time his brother and he had spent on the beach together, or played together with their friends. or simply snuck out of their room at night to go enjoy the stars.
Those times were the hardest for Mizuki. It was not a rare occasion for Atsushi to sound close to the brink of crying when he was dreaming again, feeling so lost without his other half that it hurt. After all, he was the one responsible for Atsushi being here and not with his brother, and even though he felt no remorse at separating the twins, he did not like seeing the younger of the two in pain.
So Mizuki made a point of taking Atsushi out for some fun every Friday - since it was only on Fridays that they were allowed off campus. He had learned half of the other boy’s life story while listening to him dreaming, so it was not particularly hard to think of something he would enjoy doing. Sometimes, when the nuns were in an especially good mood, they even allowed Mizuki and Atsushi to stay out later at night. It was then that he took the twin stargazing to a little pond he had discovered in a park in his first year at St. Rudolph.
It was not the ocean, Mizuki told Atsushi, but it was the closest he could find. The small smile and glistering eyes the other boy displayed then did not go unnoticed.
“I’m not Ryou,” Mizuki would say, “but I’m still here for you.”
The third time Mizuki took him out there, Atsushi placed a small kiss in thanks on his cheek, then leaning his head on the manager’s shoulder. Mizuki smiled.
