I went through my W2 forms from 2008, and discovered that I will not need to file taxes this year. It's nice that I won't need to fill out all that paperwork. What's not so nice, however, is that I made almost no money last year. Technically, the amount of income I made falls below the "poverty line". I don't have much advice on the job front, but I'm sorry to hear it's not going too well. You may want to talk to Kate, I know she's been having a lot of the same difficulties and I think she knows a lot of the job-search sites out there.

Totaljobs sends me a sometimes-useful daily list of openings matching my search criteria, but really I need to start finding a few more places to look myself. Bah, hope you get to start moving on with your plans soon. Receptionisting sounds crappy, but are there any other kinds of temp jobs, that might fill the time while looking for something longer-term and can be abandoned once you find it, and which might provide a slightly more rewarding way to spend the day than picking up meat and putting it down again? Hmm, good luck anyway, I'm sure you'll find something with a bit more hunting.
