There was silence behind the door for a moment before movement could be heard. Yukio crawled out of bed and opened the door, the book he had been reading still in his hand. He smiled at his student, that same smile he had been putting on for Christmas as well.

"Yes Suguro-kun?"

Bon smiled back, looking a little nervous, "Hey Yukio-san. Um, today's your birthday, right?"

So far, Bon hadn't really suspected that Yukio's smile isn't completely sincere. But he knew that Yukio had to be missing his brother, especially at this time of year. So he planned to use this impromptu celebration to take his mind off of that.

Yukio blinked, the smile fading slightly and replaced with a look of surprise. He had forgotten Bon would know about his birthday being today. He had been trying to ignore that fact himself by burying his nose in a book, but it seemed that wasn't going to work.

"Yes, it is. Why do you ask?"

"Well, uh, I know you guys never really celebrated it by itself, so I thought maybe it might...be okay if maybe we did something together? S-So I asked Haku-san to help me make you a cake."

By the end Bon was babbling, becoming more and more embarrassed as he realized just how stupid he must have sounded to Yukio.
