Megaera sighed, putting down a quill-pen she had been using. So close to finishing this theoretical spell design.

Oh well. Better not delay Kat. She quickly closed her book, stuck it in her desk, and quickly moved up.

A minute later, the door opened. Megaera's attention was turned to Kat.

"Good afternoon. What's up?"

"Please, come in," Kat said, not rising from her desk. "And have a seat. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions..."

She wasn't going to draw attention to the screen, yet. That would happen in its own time. For now, she just needed to see how Meg reacted to things without being pushed harder into them.

"Well... All right."

Megaera sat down. "... What's going on that's big enough for you to flat-out call me, may I ask?"

Things were already off to an interesting start. This behavior didn't fit. Kat spun in the chair and grabbed a folder from behind her. "We've already discussed this, but I've had some time to dig further," she said. "And... well, I was hoping you might be able to brainstorm some with me. About the items Luna's accused of taking from the Magic Box..."

Se turned and slid the folder across the desk.

"The curses are potent, but it just doesn't add up to me," she said, watching Meg's face. "A mirror, a cup, the items have no particular rhyme or reason to them..."
