Though Kioshi wasn't exactly too sure about his mom having a relationship, he didn't have a right to really judge the person until he met them. He was several years older than the last time his mom had a relationship, but he didn't exactly like the person so... he bit him.

Chances are now that he's older that he won't bite Nick, but there may be an alternate (may being the keyword) if he didn't like the guy.

"I'm doing good, Mom," Kioshi then replied.

One thing Nick had always relied on in his life was his natural charisma. In most situations, especially when working in things like investigations, the fact that he still spoke with a calm Southern drawl and had what his dad always said was an 'honest face' usually kept him out of trouble. People liked him. It was a rare day indeed when some one didn't at least treat him with minimal respect at the start.

Yet for some reason he was nervous. It was one thing to go in to a relationship knowing the other person had children, another thing entirely to meet them when they were damn near adults themselves.

Hailey on his shoulders, Nick strolled casually in to the park, trying to look calmer than he felt. Seeing them ahead, he gave a wave and a smile, not bothering to call out.

Hailey sat atop her dad's shoulders, wide, curious eyes looking out at everything around her. She knew that she and her dad were going out to see her mom and Kioshi, but she honestly didn't know what to expect, either. By this point, she was well aware that she wasn't from the same world as her mom, her dad, and now, even her brother.

It worried her a little. But she was a lot like her father, in the fact that she tried not to show it.

But she was also enough like her father to know when he was feeling the same way. So, she placed a hand on his head and patted him on the head a few times.

"It's okay, Daddy. Everything's gonna be okay."

She then saw her mom and couldn't help herself; she waved, a big grin crossing her face.

"HI MOMMY! I'M WAY UP HIGH!"

Faith laughed, waving back at Hailey.

"Jus' be careful, baby girl!" she called back, patting Kioshi on the shoulder a few times before walking a little toward Nick and Hailey.

Kioshi waited patiently until the two came along, flicking his ear as he heard the little girl. Looking up from staring at the ground, he noticed the two we was going to meet coming towards them. He glanced at his mom who patted him, before slowly followed her. He was currently being a little cautious, but that was how he naturally was at times.
