Hodges was feeling much better. He was hallucinating, sure, but hell, that was better than being dead and in pain. He glanced over at the bizarre, violently coloured rodent that must have been some creature from a TV show that his memory was dredging up for his torment. Currently his imagination had decided that the creature - which called itself Elecmon - so unscientifically - needed to be reading the paper. It read the paper a lot. And talked. Was talking to a figment of your imagination the same as talking to yourself even when the nursing staff played along?

He heard a child laughing down the hall and groaned. So far he'd managed to escape listening to little brats running around the corridors and messing with things that they shouldn't.

"Parents should have to get a license to have children." He muttered, staring at the door and hoping that maybe the idiot with the child were on the wrong floor.

Elecmon just rolled his eyes, he'd quickly found that his tamer was not exactly the most pleasant person to spend time with.

After putting Alex down, Greg knocked, pushing the door open a little to poke his head in and make sure he wasn't waking Hodges up.

"Yo. You awake?" he said, waving a little from where he stood. Alex hung back behind his father, waiting for the ok to go in.

"No, I'm in hyper-sleep Sanders." Hodges snapped back, wanting to cross his arms across his chest, but unable to do so because of his broken arm and broken ribs. Pressure and quick movements hurt, even through the morphine. He glanced at Elecmon then back at Greg.

"Greg, meet my hallucination induced rodent friend, Elecmon." He grinned snidely, Greg could be just as much of a smart ass, he wouldn't pass the chance to point out that there was nothing there.

Elecmon folded his paper up and sighed, "I believe we met briefly...before the ambulance got there..."

"Oh, good then. Glad to see everyone knows everyone else."

"Rawr, Hodges," Greg teased back with a grin, "Glad to see your temperament didn't suffer any."

He moved in, waving to Elecmon before coming to a stop near the foot of the bed.

"He's not a hallucination. He's your partner. And this-"

"Uncle Hodges!" Alex suddenly yelled from behind Greg, promptly rushing out from behind him and, completely ignoring what his dad had told him earlier, jumped up on the bed, all smiles and bright eyed. A little blue-eyed clone of Greg.

"... is... Alex... who isn't getting ice cream on the way home now," Greg huffed, crossing his arms over his chest with a miffed look to his son.

"Aw Dad!"
