Dell was so startled by Teto's entrance, that he dropped what he was working on. Namely his own arm.

"WHAT?!" he exploded. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"

"DAMN RIGHT YOU AREN'T!" Dell snapped, his only hand curling up into a fist. "You're nothing like her! You're lonely and mad at everything and you give people a lot of crap..."

He winced, and turned around.

"You're like me. How can you be a replacement for Haku, someone you're NOTHING alike?!"

"So then you were just using me," she said coldly, turning around to leave again.

"Whatever. I don't know why I bother to care."

Of course, what Teto said was true.

Dell, of course, didn't need to tell her that.

"No it's not," he replied, drawing back on his history of lying and hiding his emotions. "Really... I swear I wasn't..."

"You're lying," She said, her back still turned to him.

"We're exactly alike. You can't lie to me as easily as you can to others."

Dell flinched.

"... Teto, please... no one... no one respects me anymore... everyone looks at me like some pathetic lunatic... I need you..."

Teto shouldn't have been, but she was. She really was hurt by what he did. She couldn't explain it, but .. it was enough to conflict her.

If it were under any normal circumstance, Teto would have no problem telling him to fuck off and walk out, slamming the door behind her and never talking to him again.

But she'd actually grown to like Dell. She actually cared about him, as much as she hated knowing that.

And so, hearing him beg like that was making her feel like maybe giving him another chance wasn't that bad of an idea ...

...

but she was so past angry at this point.

So she shook her head, grasping the door handle and yanking the door open, slamming it behind her and rushing off. She didn't even say anything. She didn't know what she could say, even if she wanted to.

Dell slumped once she was gone... and fell back in his chair. He put his hand on his face, sighing and shaking his head.

This was... this was supposed to be the start of something better. Wasn't it?
