To be honest, Konata wasn't quite sure exactly what was going on; at this point, she'd only managed to understand (or even GET) bits and pieces of what had happened. Heck, she hadn't even KNOWN the victim directly, not really- just that he'd been really, really young.
Konata was true to her word, though; soon enough, she was standing in front Hoshi's room, staring at the door and listening to her friend's faint sobs. Okay, well... she had absolutely no idea what it was she was going to say. Or how she was going to comfort Hoshi. What could she even say that would HELP? Someone close to her had just been-
The blue-haired tamer slapped her cheeks and took a deep breath. Hoshi was hurting; that's why Konata was here. One step at a time.
He'd always had a concern for those who he cared about--it was simply part of who he was. Jedi looked outside themselves, defended those who needed it, and right now, every sense told him that Hoshi needed looking-after.
Perhaps he was missing Ben, too. He'd been here about a week, and since Mara's death and the end of the second Galactic War, he'd tried to be closer to his son. Luke sometimes felt guilty that he'd not been a good father when Ben was younger--that he'd not been there to help his son sort through the shock and pain through the Force of the loss of life that the Yuuzhan Vong had caused. Hoshi presented him with the ability to make a difference in someone's life, and Luke intended to take it.
He walked up beside the other who was there and stood beside her. "You can tell too," he said quietly.
Hoshi knew that Konata was coming, and that was fine with her, but the news of her nephew dying when she could have prevented it from even happening was enough to make her regret upsetting the child at all with being reckless with her own life. She said she would get stronger with Hana, but if he died, then what was the point of that? She knew that he was alright in regards that he was considered to be in critical condition, but...
She bit back a hard sigh and wiped her face with the sleeves of her sweatshirt before forcing herself to sit up. Her gaze was shifted downwards and she sniffled.
