. . . my wine. I don't care what any study says. I'm probably going to get some sort of cancer someday anyway. You can pry my (most probably empty) wine glass from my cold, dead hand. You can most likely pry the bottle from my other cold, dead hand.

WHAT??? What, are they trying to say wine is bad now? They keep telling us its GOOD! And I'm going with that... ;)

It was some stupid news show that I caught a snippet of while changing channels. This doctor was talking about a new study that shows that drinking alcohol will increase a woman's chances of getting certain types of cancer. The show did pose the question about studies that show that wine is supposed to be good for us. I was all excited about that, thinking that the doctor would surely agree that perhaps we shouldn't be drinking Jim Beam right out of the bottle but that wine was ok. But that doctor didn't even think it was a good idea for women to be drinking wine! It was right then that I took a sip of my wine and changed the channel.

I know! How could all those old European women be wrong? The snippet that I saw did say that women should avoid alcohol, not specifically wine. But wine is my alcohol of choice! And, most of the time that they were talking about alcohol, they were showing pictures of glasses of wine. I figure I don't have a whole heck of a lot of control over how (or when) I die; but I do have some control over how I live, and I enjoy my life with wine in it!

Hmmm...who is this doctor? He could just be a quack with something against relaxed women...and how come WOMEN should avoid alcohol? We can't have a glass of wine while lounging of the couch watching the fight scene in Bridget Jones Diary II but men can go gulp down all the beer they wish? I think NOT! Women haters! Vagina envy!!!!! :P

Crazy thing is this doctor is a woman. Just insane . . . I like my vino. hmph.
