It had been so long since I've heard of you! How are you and how are things? Would you like to come and check out where I live now? It is a very nice place indeed.
And there should be more optimism around, methinks. Do you think the laughing gas would work well?

I am well, thank you, and "things" are buzzing along at a breakneck pace. At least at work.
I'm glad you have found your new accommodations suitable--I do enjoy that part of London.
As for the laughing gas suggestion, I would warn against it. The psychological dependence created would, in the event of an interruption of supply, create complete chaos in the populace.
Not that the aphrodesiac qualities of the drug wouldn't be fun.
I believe we discussed the merits of cinema during our last conversation, Mr. Wagtail, and perhaps you will recognize the following reference. "The sweet is never as sweet without the sour."
This inspires optimisim, oddly enough.
