I've been talking to timberwolfblues about Strikethrough since it hit. Well, since the day after when I was unintentionally bitchy to him while locking my shit down.
Anyway, I mentioned the fact tonight that I was surprised they hadn't axed scans_daily and that if they had we'd have a lot more people in fandom with us right now. I feel like we're the minority and people in and out of fandom are telling us to stop bitching because it only got rid of the sickos anyway. I can't understand why people cannot put one and one together!
Honestly, I think because a lot (Most? All?) of the fandom comms that got TOS'd were fanfiction comms, fandom at large doesn't mind that much. Fanfiction's something that broader fandom doesn't really like all that much, as far as I can tell. And it didn't get rid of the sickos, it didn't at all. THAT'S what makes me the angriest. This whole mess, it didn't really change anything! NOTHING! No one was saved, not one child was put less at risk. It really isn't nothing.
I dislike the fact that people are going 'oh, LJ, you're a good guy, haha, joke's over now right? And you only got rid of icky stuff anyway...' NO. Stupid. People are so flamingly stupid, it makes me despair.
I have a greatest journal somewhere. I'm not entirely sure why, its not as though I update this one. I don't particularly want to leave either, theres too much stuff here to really leave it behind, but on the other hand, it'd serve LJ right if we all did. And it'd be nice to be somewhere that wasn't run by idiots.
I know how you feel. There's no garauntee that GJ isn't run by idiots...but they haven't pulled a deletegate yet either. :) I think that's why so many people aren't leaving LJ, despite hating how everything's gone to shit. They want to think, if I wait, maybe it will get better... And they'd lose all their history. It's a hard thing to pull up roots, even if it's just to move to a new blogging service.
I was thinking of maybe of starting up on GJ and just copying and pasting anything I post into both so I could stay here and go somewhere new (better?), but then, theres no garantee that even if people do go that they'll go to the same place. Myspace at least has a history of looking out for its users, but I don't really know anything about how it works etc and I'm used to the LJ format. I think my GJ name thingy is tunder_ilona if you want to add it or anything, its not like theres anything there though. Buh, this whole thing is very depressing.
