Ohno had called in sick.  Yuki posted a piece of paper on the front doors with the following paragraph:

Ohno Satoshi-san has called in ill today.  We are still open as normal.  Thank you.  Yuki-san.

Yuki looked up from sorting the bread into the correct trays. "A sliced wheat loaf sir?" She smiled as she bagged the bread. "Ohno-san called in sick with a bad cold."

Sho felt exhausted, something that he couldn’t really blame on the fact that he’d been out drinking with Shige till near curfew. He just hadn’t slept well at all, his mind thinking far too much. Then the news. Satoshi, jail, which must have been Sho’s imagination. Yes. His imagination playing tricks on him.

He was a little too deep in thought that he nearly walked straight into the bakery door. That would have been painful. Reaching for the handle, he read the note before letting himself in and shuffled to the front to get coffee and something to eat. He was starving.
