A Friday in the life!

Mar 02, 2013 17:58

It's been a long time!  This ditl finds us in Jerusalem for a few months (spousal unit is on sabbatical).

I wake up and find this next to my bed :-)

Not the sunny day I was hoping for :-(

This is the face of a boy whose secondary school application was successful!

"Please have a some soymilk?"

The clothes on the shelf and the hangers on the left are mine.  I contemplate options.

All sorts of moisturizing happens.

I deal with this.

Before...

...and after!

Ready to go!

Tiniest is being mauled by his brothers.

*Now* we're ready to go!

I see these guys and figure that they're the stragglers at the end.

I'm so mesmerized that I forget that I actually need to cross this street.

That turns into this...

...and then this.  Yeah, I really need to cross the street.  I decide to join in the running.

Finally at the shuk (market).

Home!  Spousal unit has eyes only for these babies.

I need water.

Stinky diaper change happens.  Apparently it's my job to get tiniest toilet trained.

Lunch.

What do you mean, pasta needs more than thirty seconds to cook?

Meltdown calls for a sliver of cafe latte halva (for me, not for him)

Spousal unit fixes himself a plate of hummus and olive oil.

Biggest likes his pasta with cottage cheese and cinnamon.

Biggest is not impressed with tiniest's table manners.

Middlest returns from the park.

Naptime!  I'm free...

I amble through town...

...to my favorite bookstore/cafe.

I love it here.  I've been coming here since it opened (when I was 20 and a student)

Table for one.  This is my weekly date with myself :-)

Amanda Salad minus the cheese.  I've gone vegan since my last ditl.

Come home to this.

Tiniest wakes up and has a snack.

Tiniest asks for something called "roller coaster".  Biggest obliges.

Time for a costume change!  These are my naughty tights ;-)

That'll do.

Time to return the books my kids borrowed from my friend's little girls.

The shuk is eerie when it's closed.

Boys walk on the tram tracks.  You know, because they can :-P

We decided to take a detour so we could walk over the bridge.  The kids love it.

Salad dressing happens.

Biggest and middlest are entranced by the Barbie castle...

This one only has eyes for the yellow bus (we had one once but I got rid of it).

Quinoa salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives and dressing.

My friend is a director and her little girls have a load of dressing up stuff.

They go to town, and middlest is only too happy to ham it up.

Oldest decides to join in.

Bedtime for kids!

I decide to have a shower.  Too bad there was no hot water.

Clean face and brush teeth.

Bed!  Goodnight...
