Aziraphale had finished the Tuesday Leaf shift feeling tired and unsettled, and Wilson had demonstrated that gentle understanding which always endeared him so much to the angel by fixing a light supper of sandwiches and soup and then settling them both in the living room with an old black and white movie. The angel had fallen asleep on the couch, ( Read more... )

Wilson had been reminded of a conversation many years ago when they had talked about what it would be like if Aziraphale had a different form and the young doctor had assured his mate he would love him still. It certainly didn't hurt that Phale had gotten turned into a smokin hot woman and while Wilson had settled himself into a decade of appreciating the male form, he'd been considering broaching the subject of seeing if the angel would be interested in trying things out as a woman.

You know, in case the changed lasted.

However, for the first time in over a week, Wilson was slowly waking to the divine scent of feathers and his fingers burrowed eagerly into the softness of a broad white wing.

"Mmmmm, wiiiinnngg."

Kissing his mate's breast bone, Wilson shifted up to make a pillow out of Aziraphale's shoulder.

"Tell you what," he said, arm curling across the angel's torso. "Why don't you and Marie go in for a day trip and you see about picking up some information on B&Bs and the like and we can plan a romantic weekend for Valentine's day in New Orleans?"

Oh now, that was exactly how to get the angel interested in doing what Wilson wanted -- dangle the idea of a romantic B&B getaway in front of him.

"I rather like that idea, James love. Perhaps I will do that."

He smiled, rubbing his cheek against the young doctor's soft hair. "I've missed waking up like this," he murmured, thinking back not just to the past week of being mortal, but also to his lover's long absence.

"I'm sorry, love." Wilson said softly, running his hand along the angel's arm. "He needed my help in a dimension that was a sort of off shoot of the Mansion of Silence. An army of undead angels, it was a mess."

"I remember them," Aziraphale answered softly, frowning that Wilson would have had to experience the horror of those legions.

Then he shook his head, smiled again, and bent his head to press a kiss to the young doctor's temple. "You went because you were needed, love. I don't begrudge Lucifer your help, or your presence. It's just lovely to have you back here again. I've always been a bit selfish, you know."

Wilson chuckled and kissed the angel's shoulder.

"You're both territorial, you know that?" He teased gently.

"Just so long as he remembers who got there first," Aziraphale answered lightly, with a little grin.

He shifted a bit more comfortably into the pillows and settled on arm around his lover's waist, gently carding the fingers of his other hand through that soft dark hair, in a gesture very much like Wilson's habit of running his fingers through the angel's rumpled feathers. "I expect you'll be wanting breakfast?" he asked, his tone making it plain that the angel was hoping to continue their nice lazy lie-in for a while longer.

"Mmmm, not starving anytime soon," Wilson murmurred, feeling lazy and content himself and in no great rush to get up and start the day.

"Good," the angel replied, his voice rich and low. He could always miracle up a snack of some sort if they wanted one. In fact, he felt rather keen to exercise his powers again, just because now he could.

"Shall I read to you, love?" Aziraphale asked, prepared to summon a book from the library if Wilson agreed to the plan.

"That sounds lovely," whispered the mortal, voice already heavy with the inclination to go back into a light doze, that would allow him to enjoy his lover's voice, while at the same time sleeping.
