What it's about it's not like the movie i tell ya! i found alot of it at the beginning sort of boring because it's all talk about designer suits and ties and business cards and restaurant reservations, but once you get in to it, it gets very graphic and stomch turning.

This is one of my top five books. Utterly vile and supremely, hysterically funny.

It took me a second try to really "get" the satire, but after reading another of Ellis' books (Glamorama) I had a better understanding of where he was going with it.

There were definitely parts that stopped me in my tracks (like the homeless man and his dog - that was too much even for ME!), so it certainly earns its place in the Hall Of Disturbing Literature!

And yes, every_bite, Paul Bernardo had read his copy to rags, modeled himself after Patrick Bateman (he thought the common initials they shared was a sign of sorts), and the book was in fact seized from his nightstand when they raided his house. That just adds to the creepiness of the whole thing.
