Sounds awesome, thanks for the rec.

I can't wait to scour the library/book shops for his novels!

I'm definately going to try to find these books at my library. Great thing is, One Rainy Night is an e-book so I can read it for free through my library. They don't have The Woods are Dark though, but we'll see if I like his style. Thanks so much for recommending him.

I read the original release years and years ago as a teenager and it scared the crap out of me.

I think I need to track down the re-release with the 50 extra pages.

Updating-
I am reading this book right now. I am at the part after Landon fucks that chic and slits her throat.

LMAO. No, but seriously, good recommendation. I am enjoying it in a twisted way so far.

That's funny I just finished reading that book last week. Very creepy. I have to say I am not a huge Laymon fan, I don't quite care for his gratuitous sex scenes. Ah well.+

Have you read other books by him? I have The Traveling Vampire Show waiting for me at Waldenbooks.

Traveling Vampire Show is supposed to be one of his best, but I haven't read it. I have Blood Games, In The Dark, and The Cellar. Blood games wasn't very good but the others were decent. The Woods are Dark is my faveorite of his so far. I think Bentley Little is a much better writer and far creepier, IMHO.

the only book by Laymon i read is 'Night in the Lonesome October'. a pretty good read, i have to say. moody and kind of introverted, with a surreal feeling of weird to it. you come to care about the characters, so you feel concerned for them at any hint of menace in the air. or at least i did.
the finale wasn't too pleasant to read.. :)
