[The sharp knock should have allowed Mello time to get out of the shower. Seven comes bearing food, given that sustenance was one of the stipulated reasons for this visit. The vegetable stir-fry is one of her 'emergency dishes', with the least preparation time. As much as she would've enjoyed making something more complex, she's gotten it into her head that Mello needs to be relieved of duty as soon as possible. She hasn't spoken to Matt, but she fully expects to encounter him down the line. This is no brief visit.]

[When Mello opens the door, his hair's still damp, and his feet are bare. He attempts a smile of greeting.]

Thanks for coming. [He's sure he said that already, but it bears saying again.] Oh, fuck, that smells like heaven.

It is unnecessary to thank me. [She's sure she says that too often. It's becoming a catchphrase. Striding in and heading for the kitchen, she takes note of the small differences that make this apartment accessible.]

It was quick and easy. You could have made it yourself with minimal effort. [The implication being that she'll do more when the timing's better -- not that he's a poor cook. She can tell from the damp hair that Mello showered and she's surprised that he bothered. She's in her biosuit, and the all-inclusive garment explains why she couldn't remove her shoes at the door.]

Any developments? [She means to ask if Matt's still asleep.]

[His eyes widened briefly at the biosuit, which he'd only heard about until now, but that was as much of a reaction as he could muster. He trails along behind her to the kitchen.]
