Literary Endeavour - Serious business?

It's funny how these days anyone with a saleable idea and a decent grasp of MS Word's spelling and grammar check can produce a book. Having said that the books I read these days have a tendency to have more emphasis on the content and less on the accuracy of the writing.

It pisses me off, too. The most irritating instances are when such errors occur in textbooks or academic journals; surely intelligent people are supposed to be involved in their production?!

On that note, I must go - I have some proof-reading to do ...

Yeah, well at least I didn't have to cope with my half finished sentence at the beginning of the entry (I missed three words off the end of the sentence because I was trying to get everything I wanted to say written down properly!)

Good luck with the proof reading, I hope you don't miss anything!
