I get the hiccups if I try and drink something that's really too hot (you'd think, wouldn't you, at my age I'd know better!). They go away, but for the rest of the day they return when I drink something! Weird or what?!!!

That is weird. I guess it's kinda hard to do research on hiccoughs, because they're pretty much a random spasm, and you can't induce them, so they don't get any test subjects. So nobody knows why. Maybe I'll do some independant research on the subject!
