I'm so sorry to hear that. If I can help let me know, though I seriously doubt I can do anything. This is the absolute worst.

Its okay, I'm not completely bummed out by this since I think he died in natural way in comparison to how his brother died who I'm quite positive was dinner for a coyote a few years ago as he just disappeared a few years ago. That really upset me.

I remember. I am glad Jay got to go in a peaceful way and you didn't have to make the choice in the end love.

my cat is 16 and gets fluids twice a day anonymous April 17 2008, 17:37:58 UTC
he doesnt seem to mind at all and has actually gained weight. I dont mind having to poke him with the needle since he doesnt mind. he is living a good life right now and when that is no more I will put him down. That shit is never easy, pets are hard to let go. I know how you feel, I put ramona down last month after 17 years.

I think the hydration issue was secondary to his kidneys just completely failing since he died like 12 hours after picking him up from the vet which I did in the evening so he had already been completely hydrated for the day. He was also having some liver problems so his body just wasn't getting rid nor breaking down the contaminants it produced. He had a bad case of roundworms which caused all this damage to his body in the first place.

The next cat I'm getting is going to be an indoor one.

Its probably better to keep them indoors, they live longer that way and you dont have to worry about them.
