This makes less than no sense.

This journal thing, this place, everything. None of it makes sense.

Is it unusual to get the sense that you know something on sight, but you don't know it all at the same time?

Hn.

I'll figure this out once I sort myself out and get my bearings.

I guess I'm the first one writing back.

Hello! I'm Baretta... uhm... cuz I saw that on a gun in my dream. What's your name?

People can write back in these...enh. Something else to make sense of.

...Drake.

It is strange... I never thought about it really... but then again... we're born without growing up too.

I tend not to ask questions, I get the feeling it's better that way.

Nice to meet you Drake.

I don't know. There are some fundamental questions that need answering. The rest...well, it will probably come with time.

Likewise, Baretta.

Hnn, you mean the fact that an entire world lives in and around a tree? Point taken--grown beings shouldn't be hatching from 'cocoons', either.

...but it makes even less sense when steak grow on trees and flowers grow on people's heads.

...what?

That makes even less sense than before. Steak growing on trees? That's ludicrous.

This whole thing makes no sense.

It's true. And you'd think we'd all wake up knowing something more useful than a dream.

I'm not even kidding. Something's bound to happen to you soon enough and you'll see. I've gotten used to it, but it doesn't make any more sense than it used to...

A vivid dream, but a dream nonetheless. Dreams are by nature nonsensical, which certainly doesn't help.

I think I would prefer to not suddenly have foliage sprouting from the top of my head, my hair does enough standing up on its own.

Do you have a name...?

Bearings,

tch - you'd run yourself in circles doing that.

Why didn't you take the map that Gungnir gave you, stupid?

I have it, dumbass. I also just got spit out onto the ground in a pile of glop. I am allowed to sort myself out.

Whatever.

So did I, but that doesn't mean you need to tell the rest of the world, moron.

Obviously you were born stupid. You were ludicrously loud, too; is that the way you make up for your intellectual defects?

Well, I doubt anything'd make sense with all our memories gone. It's sure to put you off balance.

Isn't that deja vu'?

To say the very least, but at this point I'm trying to make it adhere to at least something resembling logic. It isn't working.

...yes. That's it. It's odd.

Not yet, anyways. It took me a week to gather my bearings, yet I'm still not sure of how...stable I am I don't feel it. It'll just take time, no matter how agonizing.

Maybe it has something to do with our pasts?

Some...interesting things have happened already. I'm not sure entirely how stable I am either.

I'm sure it does, in this case. It's still eerie. The name is Drake, by the by.
