Micaiah was reading, her crystal by her side where she was sat on her bed, a stave and a tome on the other. Even though she knew no danger would reach her here - it seemed the room required others to have permission to enter to begin with - it was more of a safety conscious aspect of her time in an army that had somewhat instilled it into her, making it natural. It felt weird not to have her tome within hand reach at all times, no matter how safe she actually was, and what she was doing. Other than that, her room was somewhat humble. Locke offered up a smile upon his approach, lifting one of his hands and waving his fingers slightly in greeting. The other was shoved haphazardly into a pocket, a few tattered scraps of fabric wound tightly around his upper arm and shoulder. He leaned against the wall slightly. "Hey," he offered casually. It was strikingly different to be meeting her in such a setting, considering the circumstances that had surrounded their previous--and first--interaction. Almost unconsciously, his eyes darted briefly around the room before settling back on her again.

Micaiah smiled warmly in response, putting the book aside. "Locke," she said in response. For a moment, she tilted her head, looking at him with curiousity. Something seemed a little off, but she wouldn't like to jump to conclusions (not to mention, unless she saw an indication of someone being hurt, she wouldn't insist on doing anything about it). "I'm sorry, there's not much... but you can sit, if you'd like."

The young man nodded his thanks, crossing over toward the desk and pulling out its chair before taking a seat across from where Micaiah sat atop her bed. "What were you studying, if you don't mind me asking?" He gestured toward the book before folding his arms neatly across his chest.
