Meanwhile as the monk practiced, a stately gentleman watched on with mild interest. Albert was quite sore about his recent defeat, but he wasn't about to take out his frustration on the lad. After all, Saleh was merely acting on the behalf of his fealty to Cosmos. It would be silly for him to hold a grudge against the younger man, but Albert didn't appreciate their first encounter to be so anti-climactic. It was embarrassing for the warlock to suffer such a grim defeat, but Albert was looking forward for the next bout.

Walking towards the edge of the castle's ledge, Albert simply waited to see if Saleh was going to be victorious. The monk seemed to be struggling against the mannequin, and Albert was quite sure his aid would be disapproved. Therefore, he decided to just watch for now.

The mannequin attacked again, this time with a thrust right towards Saleh's torso. Saleh sidestepped the attack, parrying it with his staff, slipping behind the mannequin. He ran a few feet before facing his opponent again, tome in hand. Extending his hand, he unleashed his Divine spell. A ball of light magic shot up like a comet from where Saleh stood, and then crashed down on the mannequin from above with a brilliant flash. The mannequin was instantly disintegrated by the spell. Saleh froze in place, his hand still extended, to catch his breath. He kept his eyes on the spot where the mannequin had been, just in case it might materialize again.

After a few moments, when nothing had happened, Saleh relaxed, withdrawing his hand. He was ready to call it a day, but he was completely unaware of the spectator standing on the castle's edge.

"Well done!" Albert cheered. "I almost thought he had you, but you’ve managed to come out victorious." Smiling the entire time as he praised the monk, Albert quickly vanished only to reappear before Saleh. With a polite bow, the ageless magician welcomed the other with a grin.

It must have been baffling for the monk to understand why such a man would be so affable to his opponent, but that’s just how Albert is. He has his moments where he’ll threaten to rip someone’s guts out with a meat cleaver, but overall Albert possesses a rather genial demeanor. Unfortunately, some people just think the warlock is a tad psychotic.

"Training, are you?"

Saleh was startled both by Albert's greeting and his sudden appearance before him. It truly was baffling how the warlock could be genial to an opponent, and yes, he would agree that the warlock is a bit psychotic, but Saleh would respect his civility regardless.

The sage regained his composure as Albert inquired about his training.

"Yes," he responded. "I am."

004 was entering the rift to do training of his own when he saw Saleh fighting. For a moment, he hesitated, considering that Saleh might simply be training. However, it looked like he was having trouble, and if he really was in danger, 004 couldn't hesitate. Kneeling down, he popped open his leg at the knee and waited for a moment when the mannequin and Saleh were separated even slightly. As soon as he saw his chance, he fired a rocket at the mannequin.

The mannequin dissipated as soon as it was struck with the rocket. Saleh whirled around in the direction from which the rocket came, not expecting the aid. He relaxed when he saw the cyborg and recognized him as an ally.

"Ah...thank you," he said, catching his breath.

Standing up, 004 nodded. "You're welcome."

He started to approach Saleh. "You weren't hurt, were you?" he asked. "Those things can be surprisingly strong."

"No, I'm all right." Saleh paused for a brief moment. "I suppose it was careless of me to train without a partner...but at the same time, I wanted to be prepared should I find myself alone in a real battle."
