He didn't notice Sheena as he walked up to her, but eventually he saw her and jumped in surprise.
"Oh. Hey."
He wasn't feeling as energetic as usual today.

"Hey."
To say her facial expression was somewhat suspicious at the lack of usual 'grawrrrr, me Chaos, you Cosmos' hostilities would be putting it mildly. Maybe Chaos fighters were too drunk on their victory to think straight or something...? Well. Whatever it was that didn't result in her getting her butt kicked, Fujibayashi heartily approved.
"...what're you doing out here?"

She seemed uncomfortable, so Jack decided to try to be a little more friendly. He even managed a smile.
"I don't think we've met yet. I'm Jack Russell."

"Fujibayashi Sheena. Nice to meet you."

The Palace was one of Trish's favorite locations, if only for the complete spontaneity of its adjustments and changes on a dime. She'd been here for a few minutes, half-sitting on the railing and observing the floor shifts, when movement caught her eye and a very non-Mannequin feel touched her senses. Glancing over, she watched the young woman pause on the staircase. This one didn't give off a Chaos feel, but it wasn't always a sure thing to detect; not that Trish particularly cared either way.
"Rough time?" she called down over her shoulder, having noticed the other's less-than-ideal state.

"You could say that." Seeing as Trish hadn't attacked - yet - a little small talk couldn't hurt, right? So long as the blonde didn't initiate anything, Fujibayashi was content to sit and recuperate for a while. It wasn't like she really knew where she was supposed to be looking for Zelos anyway. "It's my fault for getting careless."
Not that she really had any way to predict ambushes or the abilities some mannequins had. Still... it wasn't a good feeling to have to flee from most battles.

"Did you have fun, at least?" she asked lightly.

Because, clearly, the notion of beating things up for the heck of it was nowhere in Sheena's 'things that are fun' list.

The mannequins? They hadn't left him alone, either. The ones that she hadn't gotten, he had. So by the time he spotted her, he was pretty dang relieved, making haste up the stairs to sit beside her and glancing once over his shoulder to make sure things were as quiet as she thought.
"Didn't think I'd be able to find you, but hey: the trail of bodies was pretty handy." He wasn't grinning, but his tone didn't sound too serious, either.

Second thing she did... well. I think all of us muns could predict what it was that would happen next.
SMACK!
Now don't get her wrong, she was relieved that Zelos looked largely intact. But still, nobody but NOBODY got away with hanging up on Fujibayashi Sheena of Mizuho when she was in the middle of an important topic. "You hung up on me, you-" SMACK. "Stupid--" SMACK. "Perverted--" SMACK. "Chosen!"
Sooooooooooooo small wonder she was breathing a little harder by the time she got her bitchslapping impulses under control. Still, judging from the livid expression on her face as well as the fact her fingers were twitching, Zelos had to tread carefully. She was highly volatile at a time like this.

And the Chosen found himself rolling roughly down the stairs.
Backward.
He wound up at the bottom (luckily, it was only a dozen stairs down), where he... was pretty content to stay on the ground actually, holding his head with one hand and rubbing a knee with the other.
"I didn't want you to get involved," he called back up the stairs, almost as if reciting 'his lines' here, because the last thing he felt like doing after rolling violently down a flight of concrete stairs was explaining himself.

"What do you mean, get involved?! I'm already INVOLVED, you--" Her boot froze in the act of coming down on his chest in a well-deserved kick when she spotted the glowing 'x' through his Cruxis crystal, and instead landed on the floor while she bent a bit at the waist to peer suspiciously at the brand. Saved by the shiny object, Zelos. Lucky you.
"Playing with paint, are we?" Sheena muttered wryly, her mouth twisting in a faint grimace when a stitch in her side gave a particularly strong twinge.
And THAT look clearly demanded an explanation.
