Who: Everyone. Every single character in
dissideo. Yes, including you.
When: Midnight, between Friday and Saturday. (The battle itself will last most of Saturday, in IC-time).
Where: A run-down warehouse complex. (Details below.)
What: Once again, the forces of Cosmos and Chaos meet on the battlefield, with a few warriors lost and many gained. AKA: Round 2, ding!
Type: Either log or action-tag.
Notes/Warnings: There will be fighting. And probably swearing, too. Who knows. Also, everything not specified here is probably covered
over here or maybe even
here.
SETTING
Unlike last time's Archylte Steppe, this round has a much more modern setting. Specifically, an abandoned and mostly ruined warehouse complex. A series of
hallways, smaller rooms, and
massive open rooms, though all such things as doors have long since fallen (or been ripped) off. It's much like a labyrinth--trying to find an escape just gets you more and more lost. There's an upstairs and downstairs, but don't worry--somehow, the floor will not break (any more than it already is), no matter how much pressure your fighting puts on it.
So how do you know where the enemy crystal is? Well, if you aren't observant, it'll be through sheer dumb luck. But much like in the last battle, the setting itself gives clues as to where you're going. Those being, the building is in worse and worse shape the closer you get to Chaos's crystal. The relatively cleanest large room in the complex holds Cosmos's crystal, and the most broken room in the complex holds Chaos's. Just as a hint: Cosmos crystal is downstairs, Chaos crystal is upstairs.
For reference: A few of Chaos's rooms look
very much like this. Don't worry, guys... it's not too many of them.
Some things to note:
1. There're three levels. Let's call them Cosmos Level (top), Neutral Level (middle), Chaos Level.
2. There are NO WINDOWS. None. All light comes from a plethora of
overhead lights, though no light switches can be seen.
3. There's no stairway that goes from the top floor to the bottom one. In fact, the stairway to from the Chaos Level to the Neutral one is on the opposite side of the building from the Neutral/Cosmos one. You can't just skip past the fighting, guys. Seriously. |D
4. Though you can't destroy the building yourself, some rooms are destroyed already. Play around with it--If it works best for your thread, feel free to say that your character falls through a hole from one floor to the next, though the fall would be from a great height (like, 30 feet up?) and would probably hurt them very very much. If they need somewhere to hide, the space above the normal-sized rooms and below the floor above it (to account for how tall the warehouse rooms are) serves as a very dark and unstable-feeling crawlspace. THAT'S JUST AN EXAMPLE. BASICALLY: USE THE SETTING HOWEVER YOU SEE FIT. GO WIIIIIILD~!
ARRIVAL
No matter where your character is or what the are doing, there's a flash, and they find themself standing in a warehouse-type room with their crystal in the center, weapon at hand. They're all starting at home base this time.
And another change--whoever they might've been with before the battle started, they're standing beside your character now (unlike last time, where they were scattered). A voice speaks in their head: "Search out the crystal once again... And end this tragic battle quickly." / "You've trained since the last battle. Seize the crystal this time, and you bring us the power to triumph over Cosmos!" Will your character stay and guard the crystal? Will they charge down one of the many hallways to seek out enemy forces? Whatever their choice, the time is now.
TWIST
This time around, the battle has a twist. What is that twist?
About halfway into the battle, though the complex has withstood hours of battling thus far, it falters in a single, very crucial way--every single light in the building flickers and goes out.
They stay that way throughout most of the rest of the battle. Near the end, the lights flicker back on, and in the last couple of hours they flicker on and off at random. They're trying to be the Little Florescents that Could, but they're... kind of failing at it.
HOWEVER, Cosmos and Chaos both know the fight must go on. So whenever the lights are out, your character is surrounded in a glow. An aura, you might call it, of either blue (Cosmos) or red (Chaos) light. So the enemy will be silhouetted in even the darkest of dark, though you won't for the life of you be able to identify who it is. And everything else around you is still bathed in dark.
On top of that, when the lights are out, such things as fire or light spells still damage the same, but the glow they cast in the process is halved at best. Point is: Fire's not gonna save you from the scary dark, folks, sorry.
This being said, you can have your characters fight:
1. Before the lights are out, so it's basically a normal fight.
2. After the lights go out, so they have to figure out a way to fight in the dark--though their enemy is still quite visible, and that's what matters, right? ;D
3. After the lights come back on, during the flickering process. This can be good for if you want the lights to go out mid-thread, or if you want the lights to come on mid-thread, or anything you want, really.
FORMAT
For the sake of trying to avoid messing up the space-time continuum, try to start new threads as often as possible. I know that's not what you usually hear from mods, but like...
You post at the start of the fight and fight Person A. You want to fight someone else. Post a new thread set after your fight with Person A. Make sense?
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO INCLUDE?
In the subject line: You MUST say whether the thread is 'OPEN' or 'RESERVED FOR ____'. (Capslock optional, you caps-denying fools. ♥) You must also say when in the battle it is, so that people can keep track of where their character was and when. (Last time, I said 'beginning,' 'near the end,' or 'middle', etc. This time, it'd be easier to say 'lights on,' 'lights out,' or 'lights flickering', though you can be more specific if you want.) Optionally, include what level (Cosmos, Neutral, or Chaos) the character is on.
EXAMPLES:
'Reserved for Chuck Norris -- Lights On (not long before lights out though) -- Cosmos Level (guarding crystal)'
'OPEN // Lights out // Neutral'
'Open -- Flickering (lights currently on) -- Chaos Level (stealthing toward crystal)'
Note! Really, as long as you title it with when in the battle it is, it doesn't matter if your beginning logs are at the beginning or if your ending logs are at the end. If you have one you want to do now 'cause you're buddy's online, slap up that finishing thread first thing. Make sense?
Remember! We're gonna need to know the winner so we can tally stuff, so... try to decide as early as possible, alright?
Now, go have some fun!
