Who: Lightning and ANYONE
When: Sometime in the last couple of days. After her talk with Sephiroth, she was feeling pissy and restless.
Where: Planet's Core--the first real open area she could find where she didn't have company (yet).
What: As I said, she's restless from her bitchfest with Sephiroth, so in the early hours of the morning she ( Read more... )

Since her arrival, Aigis has taken to wandering. Perhaps not the most wisest idea, when she wasn't even aware of half the dangers or the systems this world sported beyond the basics, but it was the most logical one. Sitting around wasn't going to get her anywhere, to say the least. Familiarising herself with the surrounding area was a good use of her time.

What she hadn't expected, was upon entering Planet's Core to find a very disgruntled young woman to be repeatedly cracking a whip. The reason for it was beyond her, as something in particular was quite clear: this was not her weapon of choice. Her build made it quite clear she wasn't a stranger to fighting, either. So why was she persisting so?

After watching her once more, Aigis continued her approach, face partly curious, and confused, at the same time. "That is not the weapon you are most suited for," she said slowly, her voice ever monotone. "Why do you persist with it?"

Lightning had sensed her coming from afar, but only when she spoke did Light turn her eyes on the girl, narrowed slightly for a moment. Almost as if she were deciding whether or not to bother with an answer.

She conceded, of course. "This is what Cosmos gave my sister," she explained, drawing the whip through her hand to look it over casually. "And I'm supposed to teach her how to fight."

"Your sister?" Aigis repeated. That... could make sense. Family bonds... devotion... wanting to protect another. The latter, she could fully understand. It was not a far cry from the way she was with a certain someone back home. "If there is no other weapon she can use, then I understand why you would want to be able to teach her."

"Yeah. Serah. I'm sure you've seen her around... She likes meeting people." Aigis could probably tell Light didn't share Serah's interest, by her general demeaner if not by the tone of her voice. It wasn't that Lightning didn't like people... No, she just didn't have 'making friends' at the top of her list of priorities.

Though she wasn't really curious per se, and though chitchat wasn't productive in the slightest, she found herself asking, "Do you fight?"

He hadn't been around anywhere long, and Nero wasn't one to let himself wander- at least not without a purpose. He figured that it'd be better to check out at least one of the places, in order to keep himself from being bored out of his mind half the time. Really, he wasn't a people person, even moreso because of his attitude and his arm, but hell, what else was there to do otherwise? Sit and wait? As if ( ... )

She'd sensed another presence, but it was mainly a case of 'don't mess with me and I won't mess with you', so she casually ignored them, aside from mentally keeping tabs on their general location. So when the voice sounded from above her, it wasn't entirely a surprise.

With her eyes narrowed, she tilted her head to glance up at him, for the first time getting a general picture of who she was dealing with. Nobody she couldn't handle, if he proved to be trouble.

As for his words... "Great. Now tell me I'm using a whip and that the sky's usually blue, and go back where you came from." She's not so fond of letting people waste her time.

"Go back and do nothing for hours? I'll pass." He shot across to another pillar before setting himself down, both feet firmly on the main platform. Not that he didn't like Lightning, but the kid was known to rebel against authority or whoever told him to go away. If he wanted to stay, he'd stay- didn't matter if the person was older, younger, stronger, whatever.

He wouldn't comment on the whip, as he himself had no experience with it. Still, you didn't expect many people to battle with that kind of thing anymore, at least not where he was from. He was thankful his own girlfriend wasn't caught in this mess- there'd be hell to pay if she was.

"Figured it'd be better to explore and get used to the areas before any major battles." Not that he knew of any coming, at this point at least.

His pillar-switching was more or less ignored, and she pointedly cracked the whip in the other direction, making the 'going back to work now, thanks' sort of statement.

She got a couple of good, painful-sounding 'cracks' in before he spoke again, which she figured would be their record--he didn't seem like the 'sit down and shut up' type.

At his words, she let out a 'tch'. "Save your energy. They take us somewhere new, for the big battles."
