001 [Video]

How lovely, my end had a start.

[Slowly, but surely, the voice was accompanied by an image which, then, merged into a video. The creature, who held the crystal ball with her hair, was most certainly amused and seemed bizarrely calm, despite being thrown into an unfamiliar environment. Though, it probably helped that her homeland wasn't exactly the ( Read more... )

[Yeah, petty threats won't phase or amuse him at all.]

Mhm. Your name shall not be forgotten.

[Remember this familiar laugh, sage? Guess who's on the other end.]

Saleh! What terrible manners!

Foe or not, you shouldn't be so rude to a lady.

[Appearing upon her crystal was the dapper visage of one very charismatic magician. He never quite seen a woman like Caroline before, but then again...she doesn't appear to be human at all.]

Oh ho! Already threatening our little stalwart heroes, dear?

But of course, if they're not used to it now they will be soon enough.

[Because of the manner in which the man responded to her threats, Caroline could only assume they were allies. However, she was slightly confused, though she would dared not show it. The stranger was adorned in the same garb as the humans in her society, which were highly xenophobic. So why was he apart of Chaos?

She was intrigued.]

Well, are you going to tell me your name or will I have to give you one?

[Offering the woman a genial smile, Albert decides to filter this entire video conversation for the Chaos fraction only. It's bad enough that everyone knows their faces, but they don't need to know what they're plotting for the next rumble.]

Well, since you put it that way -- I'm curious as to what you would name me.

[Unlike everyone else she spoke with so far, this person didn't look human. She was different, green too. Very, very green. If she hadn't spoke, Neytiri would have confused her for a plant instead. The Na'Vi was intrigued with this odd entity, but very annoyed by her words.]

Killer? You'll kill no one!

[Caroline, too, was interested in the appearance of this character, as well. She didn't look like a humans. And, even though her skin was of a different color, she most certainly wasn't a noble. The woman had the qualifications of a mutant but not the ideals of one.]

You're right, I haven't. At least, not here, not yet.

But can you even practice what you preach?

[She almost snarled at the creature for that last comment.]

My blade will show you! You will kill no one. No one deserves to die here, this is not right.

[She's spent too many years working puzzles and riddles and reading into subtle cues to miss that first comment--and while she'd normally be more tactful in inquiring, the stranger's next words and general disposition kick Jill's concern down a couple notches.]

Your end? [Pause] ...Did you die before you showed up here?

[It seems someone had sharp ears and picked up on her mumblings before the video had actually started.

Tilting her head back, ever so slightly, she was going to try and at least look high and mighty when admitting her one fault: allowing herself to die in battle.]

Yes, yes I did.
But I'm obviously alive now, so it's no longer an issue.

[Caroline detested having to admit it. The feral green haired mutant wanted to convince herself she was immortal and managed, barely, to regenerate after she sustained fatal wounds during her previous battle.

But, she was pretty sure she died. Yeah, pretty positive.]

[So this one remembers...

...and obviously doesn't want to talk about it. So she won't press despite her curiosity. Instead, she just nods.] And it won't be, as long as you're here.

[As disgusted as he should be by the strange woman's words, Locke can't help but be intrigued by her image. He stares wordlessly at the crystal for a few moments.

A lot of interesting creatures here...I wonder who--or what--else I'm going to find in this place, ally or otherwise.]

.....What do you mean by your "end had a start"?

[Caroline soon anticipated that she might be repeating herself a lot, and once was plenty enough in her book.]

I was dead, now I'm alive, simple as that.

[Caroline was straightforward and her voice lacked it's usual enthusiasm, but only because Jill had beaten Locke to the punch in asking.]

Oh.

[Interesting. He tilts his head slightly, idly fiddling with one of his earrings.]

What did it feel like? To die but awaken again...
