I don't find it intense like that at all.
Plus, if you look at the slope of the slide, it's not very steep. I don't think you need to worry :)

To agree with the other poster - yeah, it's a lot more gradual than it looks from the outside. You just kinda...appear in the pool. The curves kinda help buffer the ending, anyway.
