The rules state "No name-dropping in threads." I'm assuming this means you can't name-drop anonymous commenters even if they're not the OP of the secret.
Both the comment I linked to and the comment they were replying to seemed written by the same person trying to stir up drama, to be honest.

I sort of agree. I like Mulan and all, but I hate how people say she's so much better because she fought in a war. It was brave, but it doesn't make the other princesses any less brave. There are different ways to show bravery.

I dunno, I guess the stanning does kind of annoy me, but I've only seen someone praise Mulan and then hate on the other princesses because they're weak and girly once.
Most of the time people just say Mulan is better than the rest because she saves the day, she saves China, etc. That's not really that bad, but it does get irritating when you see a bunch of people being like, "Mulan is SOOO much better than the other princesses." Because I like the other princesses.

I've never actually seen the stanning for Mulan like I have for Ariel and Belle, but I have noticed that whenever I'm reading articles about which princesses are the best role models it's always Belle and Mulan right on top. Although, the reasoning for Mulan I've seen wasn't about not being girly. The praise was 1. she wanted to save her father and 2. she didn't go looking for a prince

Interesting, but I personally don't see it working believably. I mean besides the fact that the Beast is the prince of some random location with subjects somewhere that don't seem to care about what happened to him (and there was no mention of his parents), I don't think he would have any reason to hide Belle from his people. Heck, they're publicly together in the celebration at the end and during the Christmas party in Belle's Enchanted Christmas. While I don't think she's conventional...as in I don't think we're given any clear indication of them marrying right away and I'm thinking she still lived there regardless of this, I really don't imagine the Beast marrying someone else and Belle settling to be his mistress. After all, love or no love, Belle is not really the settling type

It is entirely my head-canon, you've got me there!
Belle as the Beast's mistress works only from a historical monarchy level where nobility couldn't marry below their station. I may be wrong on this, but I think Belle's the only heroine who marries into royalty as a commoner (Cinderella's father was a nobleman, the rest were royalty of some stripe before their marriages). It's one of the few times a Disney Prince would be considered to be marrying down. But then in Disney nobility, anyone can marry anyone else by movie's end.
In addition to that I do think the Beast is a lost Prince whose royal family is looking for him and he would have certain obligations to them, like political marriage. He could even already be married. Yeah, there's a whole fanfiction behind this. Someday I may cop to it, but I thought it was interesting that other artists picked up on the Madam Pompadour-Belle similarities.
See, I assumed that because of it being France, Beast being a prince meant he was simply somewhere in succession right to a throne, but still not an official member of the royal family itself (as that was usually how the title was used). Yes, Belle was the only one up until Tiana was introduced.
I also never was under the assumption that he was a lost prince. I mean, he had a castle and servants. When I said nobody seems to care, I only meant that you would think Belle would have at least heard of like a legend or something of a "lost kingdom" and yet we're not given any indication that Beast actually ruled. Which, would go back to the fact that in France, princes weren't rulers. They were, however, allowed to have households which would explain all of the people who served in the palace. IDK, maybe I'm just thinking too historically about this :P Either way, it would still make for an interesting fanfiction.
