Theme: Epics: Swords and Sandals
You can pretty much guess what you're going to be featuring this week. HERCULES! Ah yes, the great epic films of bygone eras... and the modern era thanks to films like Lord of the Rings and Avatar. But I'd like to focus on the old school epics. Did you know the original Ben-Hur was filmed in 1907? Of course, the most famous one (and arguable most epic, at least in length) is the 1959 epic staring Charlton Heston that won eleven Academy Awards. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend buckling down one night and watching it, it's truly amazing. Of course their are plenty of other epics of various styles, but when someone talks about epics in films, it's hard to beat Ben-Hur.
This week, you must icon something from Hercules. It's the closest we've got to a classic swords and sandals flick, after all. I've provided some images to get you all started, but feel free to use other caps from the movie.
