[Chicha still had her work cut out for her. Settling three kids into a new house, unpacking, making a syllabus...
But it would all get done. She'd just do it one at a time and not let herself worry too much.
She kept reminding herself that the move was a good idea. They'd been invited, and with the evacuation of the village, it made sense to come here. Part of her wondered if she and Pacha shouldn't have stayed with the village... but they could do more good here.
She was headed to the administration building to hand in the last of the paperwork, coming from her little out of the way home, when she saw the other woman. She smiled.]
[ Her head perks up from where she's sitting. Stretching her toes, she stands as if to somewhat try and resent herself with a smile, albeit a strained one. ]
Hi.
[ Ezzie nods, and holds out a hand. She looks like a teacher, based on the paperwork. ]
[Clopin knows Esmeralda. When she's feeling melancholy, she goes for walks, and he knows she isn't stupid enough to stray into dangerous areas by herself. But as well as he knows her, he misses talking to her. So finally, after letting her keep to herself for a few days, he sprints along to catch up with her] What's the matter, princess?
[Cogsworth, too, had been wandering around the school for the past few days for one reason or another. Spending time to plan for his class, finding his way around the immense campus, and maybe to avoid making contact with the Beast... But he had done these things non stop for too long, he found his thoughts drifting, a rare occurance for him... He wondered about the state of the Castle, the servants within, and if the Mist should ever drift their way.. The Mist had him especially nervous, and the news that it had come to the school before. Lately Cogsworth had been wandering to keep his mind off his own worrying.
During these frequent walks he had caught sight of Esmerelda a few times in passing, but was too low to the ground to be noticed. After a while, he finally decides to strike up a conversation.]
Ahem.. Hello! Good evening, miss! [He smiles and waves to catch her attention]
[ Someone was talking and----is that a table clock? To be honest, there was a lot of strange things here. But by far, Cogsworth had been the strangest. Have a strange, curious look, Cogsworth. ]
You...[ She's sure you're aware that you're a clock. ]
Ah, good evening. [ Now have an apologetic smile. ]
[Facilier spots Esmeralda from a distance, and a smile quirks his lips. He steps back into a shadowy nook behind a stone staircase, and almost at once he is at Esmeralda's side as though he'd been just behind her only a second before.]
Oh! Es. [He sounds surprised, and presses a hand to his chest in emphasis.] Didn't see ya there.
[ Truly, she hadn't seen a thing, she was too deep in thought. She turned, startled, but smiled, knowing who it was. Ezzie thought Facilier took her more by surprise than she took him, though, didn't press the matter at all. ]
Didn't...see you either, Doctor. Can't go sneaking up on people like that.
[ She kept her smile, now only about half as strained as it was. ]
[Facilier falls into step with her, though he has to shorten his strides a bit to keep her from having to hurry along.]
Oh, you know. Gettin' the lay of the land. [Because he didn't have the lay of the land after his second day on campus or anything. Not very convincing.] What about yourself? [He looks more serious.] Really shouldn't be out on your own, you know.

[She manages a smile too and shakes the woman's hand.]
My husband and I just arrived.

Nothing's wrong. Just...something's been off the past few days, is all.

How so? Can you explain it?

Well...I miss home. Kind of. But I don't know why.
And I'm worried. About everyone.

Right..
[ Convincing enough for her. ]
Just strolling, I guess. Getting my mind off of some things is all.
[ She states this nonchalantly, hoping to give off the impression that whatever she's thinking about isn't bothering her all that much. ]
