Dr. Facilier sits expectantly behind it, shuffling a thick deck of cards.]

[Facilier already reached into his jacket by the time Helga had finished saying "promise," and he dangles a handful of little trinkets before her, each like a little carved wood animal face.]

I'd recommend the rabbit if you're keen on what the reading showed, but the tortoise if you'd rather stay firm. Depends on how much faith you have in yourself, I suppose.

I can think of a few... issues... that may be related to this. Many of which I am considering different responses to. Which situation this refers to makes all the difference in whether I want to help or hinder it.

Well, considering your Past card had to do with a major event in your life and the Present characterized you as a person, wouldn't it be reasonable to think the Future pointed to an influential event as well? In all honesty, Lieutenant, I don't take you for one who will squander impulsive decisions on something meaningless. [He leans forward a bit.] Think for a moment. What is going on at this school that may require your leadership and quick-thinking?

[She smirks a bit.]

If it's the Mist, I think I can trust my judgment on that.

[...Bad idea, Helga, revealing there are other things that you wouldn't trust your judgement on.]

[Facilier shrugs.] You know yourself better than I do. But I can assure you that their last visit was only that: a visit. What will we do should they come to stay, hm? [He taps the Future card again.] Your future is yours to control, I can only read it as it will exist should nothing change. But if it does.... [He brandishes the charms again, eyebrows raised.] I just prefer to have a fail safe.

If they stay, perhaps we can actually observe them. Only way to defeat an enemy is to know what it is. You can't plan if you don't know what you're facing.

[Always with plans, but she needs her plans. They're usually her fail-safes. Besides, dealing with the Mist? Nothing compared to dealing with issues in her personal life.

If anything, the Mist returning would be a perfect distraction. ...Except for the way it buzzed in her head, reminded of everything she'd been and done.

She stiffens a bit.]
